Feb 2021...worst experience we have ever had in 30 years of travel.
pictures, descriptions on VRBO do not match the apartment.
Host was not helpful, combative, lied and told us "we were lucky to have gotten a great rate." $15,000 for two months is not exactly a steal.
Place was filthy, holes in wall, furniture stained, soiled, TVs not hooked up for local cable, broken dishwasher, window..food caked on gross, lacking kitchenware. Pubic hair and body stains on sheets, mattress cover. Missing furniture, rugs, cushions missing..
Apparently, the host had a history of neglect and VRBO did not address.
Still fighting for refund even though the host had us exit the unit 17 days into the 60 day lease.
Have sent a zillion photos, video, full email and text history to VRBO..now well over a month...still no response.
User's recommendation: cannot assume what you read or actually see on VRBO will be present. And there is no accountability for a poor host.
Monetary Loss: $15.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
VRBO Cons: No accountability, Horrific response time and customer service, Fraud.
