I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with VRBO that I feel compelled to share. My six-month prior, paid in full reservation, was abruptly canceled by the host less than 24 hours before check-in due to a double booking by VRBO/Host.

I, along with 13 other out-of-state guests, were left in a difficult situation with no alternative accommodations provided or compensation offered by VRBO. Firstly, VRBO's customer service was utterly unhelpful throughout this ordeal. Despite the cancellation being entirely due to the host's decision, VRBO failed to assist in finding a replacement booking or offering any form of compensation for the inconvenience caused. This lack of support and empathy was deeply disappointing.

Furthermore, the policies that VRBO allows hosts to follow are unreasonable and customer-unfriendly. Allowing hosts to cancel reservations so close to the check-in date without consequences for the guests is simply unacceptable. As a customer who relies on VRBO for reliable accommodation, I expected better accountability and support from the company. In conclusion, my experience with VRBO has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.

Their inadequate customer service and lenient host policies have left me without lodging and out of pocket. I urge others to consider these issues before booking through VRBO, as there are alternative platforms that may offer more reliable and customer-focused service.

User's recommendation: Never Book using VRBO. They are unreliable, unfriendly to the customer, and offer little to no assistance!

Monetary Loss: $2000.

Preferred solution: Price reduction.

Vrbo Cons: Poor customer service, Lack of integrity.
